Enfield Art Circle
History
Enfield Art Circle was founded in 1932 by a group of local artists with
the aim of meeting together to encourage interest in the visual arts.
Discussions, lectures and demonstrations were held and exhibitions
arranged annually even throughout the war years.
Over the years since being founded many Art Circle
members have been known in the art world, exhibiting in prestigious
public exhibitions such as the Royal Academy, Paris Salon (several
award winners) Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Pastel Society, Society
of Women Artists and so on, and there is a generous sprinkling of RA's
throughout the 75 years.
